Why Food Rescue?

Why it Matters

To lessen the amount of this gas, it’s important to lessen the contributing problem. That’s why it’s important to rescue edible food before it makes it to the dump.

Benefits

Not only is the benefits to lessen the impact of methane gases, but the major benefit is also to increase food security as well as the health and wellness of our community members.

How the Rescues work

Food bank suppliers, restaurants, produce distributors, and grocery stores often have too much of an item. They distribute it to the Urban Harvest Exchange for immediate distribution before it spoils and ends up in the dump.
